Types of Gutters and Gutter System Parts

Galvanized Gutters:

  • These gutters are made of galvanized steel, which is coated with a layer of zinc for corrosion resistance.
  • Galvanized gutters are durable and can withstand harsh weather conditions.

Copper Gutters:

  • Copper gutters are known for their aesthetic appeal and durability.
  • Over time, copper develops a natural patina, giving it a unique and attractive appearance.
  • While more expensive, copper gutters are highly resistant to corrosion.

Half-Round Gutters:

  • Half-round gutters have a semi-circular shape when viewed from the side.
  • They are often chosen for their classic and decorative look.
  • These gutters are available in various materials, including aluminum, copper, and steel.

Box Gutters:

  • As the name suggests, box gutters feature a more square, rectangular, or “boxy” look.
  • They’re a beautiful sight and can seamlessly complement roof outlines, which is why they’re often the go-to choice for commercial or industrial buildings (flat roofs).
  • Homeowners are often in search of a more modern or concealed look to differentiate themselves from their neighbors while retaining much of the same functionality as traditional gutter systems.
  • Today, box gutters are available in nearly all the same colors and material types – like copper – as other gutter profiles.
  • We install box gutter systems for residential homes and commercial structures in Nashville and all of Middle TN.

K-Style Gutters:

  • Provide a seamless finish on the exterior of the home. They feature a flat bottom with a curved edge, giving them a look similar to crown molding and allowing them to blend in with rooflines easily.
  • K-Style gutters are also cost-effective and easy to install, and they come in many sizes, materials, and color options. Their unique design helps the gutters direct water away from the home, preventing foundation issues and keeping moisture from getting into the structure. These gutters come in diameters ranging from 5 inches to 8 inches.

Soffit and Fascia:

  • Soffit is the exposed surface beneath the eaves of a roof, while fascia is the horizontal board that caps the end of rafters.
  • Soffit and fascia play a role in the aesthetics of a home and help protect the roof and attic from weather damage.

Gutter Screens:

  • Gutter screens are protective covers designed to prevent debris, leaves, and other materials from clogging the gutters.
  • They help maintain proper water flow and reduce the need for frequent gutter cleaning.

Rain Chains:

  • Rain chains are decorative alternatives to traditional downspouts.
  • They guide rainwater downward in a visually appealing way, often through a series of linked cups or other decorative elements.

Downspouts:

  • Downspouts are vertical pipes that carry rainwater from the gutters to the ground or a drainage system.
  • They play a crucial role in directing water away from the foundation of a building, preventing water damage.
